Salesforce announced on August 25th, 2025, that it would introduce changes to Connected App usage, effective September 2025.

As a result, Salesforce Admins will need to take action to unblock users from interacting with unauthorized connected apps, which Von may be at your organization, depending on how it was initially set up. If users report this error when attempting to connect their SFDC account to Von, read on.

To unblock new users connecting to Von for the first time, here are two approaches that can be used.

Update User Permissions

Two permissions are impacted as a result of this change. A new permission, Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps and Use Any API Client. Updating profiles with these permissions can allow the following:

Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps allows trusted users to self-authorize and continue using uninstalled apps.

Use Any API Client is broader and covers uninstalled and blocked apps alike.

Both are powerful, and both should only be granted sparingly—to admins, developers, or others who are actively managing connected apps. Everyday users don’t need them, and giving them out too freely could undercut the whole point of this change.

Authorize Von as a Connected App

Our recommendation for Von and other Apps often used by your Salesforce users is to review and update your Connected Apps OAuth settings.

Setup > Apps > Connect Apps OAuth Usage

By installing Von as a Connected App, users will once again be able to seamlessly integrate with Von.
