What is it?

The Deal Rooms File Upload feature allows users to upload files posted in the deal room channel to the principal object record in SFDC right from slack!

When to use it?

Deal rooms are a forum for collaboration and communication around key accounts or deals. This feature allows deal room members to seamlessly add important documents related to a deal (Ex:scoping documents, security requirements, contract drafts) directly to SFDC from slack.

How is it set up?

There is no configuration needed. This feature is present in all slack channels, though currently the upload will only be successful when used within a deal room. Don’t worry, when a user attempts to upload a file, they will receive a confirmation or error message depending on where they attempt to upload the file from.

How does it work?

1. Upload a file to the deal room.

2. Hover on the slack post where the file was uploaded until you see the action modal pictured below.

3. Click on the three dots.

4. Select the “Upload to SFDC” option.

5. Check the thread reply to confirm the attachment was successfully uploaded.

6. The file will now be available in the “Notes & Attachments” section of the principal object for that deal room.
