Hey Admins and Super Admins!

We've introduced a new safety feature in Rattle, requiring every member of your organization to connect their individual Salesforce instance on Rattle. This change has two key benefits:

  • Quicker SFDC integration: Team members can connect their SFDC account instantly, by clicking on an Action button on Slack alert. There's no need to navigate to the Integrations tab and or go through multiple steps anymore.

  • Active User Tracking: You can receive Rattle alerts in channels with non-Rattle users, but to interact with alerts, you must have an SFDC integration in place. This ensures that changes made to Salesforce records can be easily associated with specific users.

This article will tell you how the 'Force users to integrate their Salesforce instance' toggle, will affect existing and invited Rattle users.

Using the Advanced tab

Find this tab by Navigating to your Profile > Settings > Advanced. You can also click on Team > Advanced.

Next, toggle on the 'Force users to integrate their Salesforce instance' feature.

Impact on different types of users

1. Rattle users without a personal Salesforce integration

When a Rattle user clicks on an Action button from a Rattle alert, a pop-up will prompt them to integrate their Salesforce instance. Clicking 'Integrate Salesforce' redirects them to log into their Salesforce account. After logging in, they are redirected back to the Rattle alert.

2. Non-Rattle users without a personal Salesforce integration

This process is similar to the previous one but includes an extra step.

  • If a user not registered on Rattle clicks an Action button in their Rattle alert, a pop-up appears prompting them to integrate their Salesforce.

  • Here's the magic part - Clicking Integrate Salesforce not only redirects them to log into their Salesforce account but also automatically creates a Rattle account for them in the background.

  • Once they log into Salesforce, they are redirected back to the Rattle alert.

Role assignment:

  • Users will be assigned Member or Admin roles based on invites configured by the Super Admin

  • If a non-invited user has an account created, they will be auto-assigned a Member role

3. Additional information

  • New Rattle users will have a random password generated for them, and to take full control over their account, they can change their password by clicking on app-new.gorattle.com > Settings> Profile> Edit password, or click on Forgot password on the login page.

  • Rattle will integrate the latest Salesforce login. Users should ensure they integrate the correct account, especially if they have multiple Salesforce accounts.

  • Existing users can always go to the Integrations page of their Rattle account to connect their Salesforce
