With commands, you can view, edit and create any record right from Slack without any activity happening in Salesforce. All you need to do is type “/rattle” in your Slack message bar.

Configuration

Create record

You can create any record for any Salesforce object using the ‘Create record’ in commands.

  • In the commands section, select the Salesforce object that you want to create. And select ‘Create record’ as the ‘Type of command’

  • In the ‘Select create fields’ box, fetch all the fields that you want to populate while creating a new record.

  • Re-sync your Slack app to access these commands. Enter "/rattle-create" in the Slack message bar to create new records.

Search record

You can access any record for any Salesforce object using the ‘Search record’ in commands.

  • In the commands section, select the Salesforce object that you want to access. And select ‘Search record’ as the ‘Type of command’

  • Enter the opening text and select message body fields the way you do it while configuring a workflow. This section will demonstrate how your Slack message will look like.

  • You can select action buttons to update fields of this object or create lookup objects related to this object. Refer to the article here to learn more about buttons.

  • Re-sync your Slack app to access these commands. Enter ‘/rattle’ followed by the record name in the Slack message bar to access it.
